THE THEATRE OF THE BODY

The Theatre of the Body is an international workshop consisting of two three-hour meetings, which is part of the three-year project Masks and Myths of the Third Millennium proposed by the International Museum of the Mask Amleto and Donato Sartori directed by Paola Piizzi, with the contribution of the Creative Europe Program of the European Union, patronage of the Municipality of Abano Terme and the Province of Padua. It is based on Małgorzata Grund- Bismor’s original work “Niewiasta matka” (“The Mother Woman”), which offers an original pedagogical and narrative experience to explore movement and emotions through physical expression, inspired by martial arts, particularly Kung-Fu (no prior experience in martial arts required). Participants and attendees will work with their bodies and explore movement, the gestural structure that goes with the theatrical mask and the types it represents. The workshop is open to anyone interested in theater, movement and personal expression. No prior experience in acting or martial arts is required. the Sartori Museum houses one of Europe’s most important collections of theatrical masks related to the Commedia dell’Arte and the ancient world. Among the many masks on display are those created for the Orestea directed by Jean Louis Barrault and for Peter Oskarson, the Arlecchino and Pantalone masks for Giorgio Strehler, the Neutral Mask designed for Jacques Lecoq in 1947, the Punchinella for Eduardo De Filippo, the Arlecchino Cat mask for Nobel Laureate Dario Fo and Sarah Sartori’s Brattarello for the city of Bolzano. Comfortable clothing is required for all participants. Małgorzata Grund-Bismor, a theater director, actress and teacher with extensive experience in physical and youth theater, graduated from the Ludwik Solski State Theater School (Department of Puppetry, Wroclaw) and in psychodrama (Level I). Małgorzata has directed numerous projects combining movement, spirituality and education, working with both youth and adult participants throughout Poland.

Il Teatro del Corpo è un seminario internazionale composto da due incontri di tre ore, che fa parte del progetto triennale Maschere e Miti del Terzo Millennio proposto dal Museo Internazionale della Maschera Amleto e Donato Sartori diretto da Paola Piizzi, con il contributo del Programma Creative Europe dell’Unione Europea, patrocinio del Comune di Abano Terme e Provincia di Padova. Si basa sull’opera originale di Małgorzata Grund- Bismor “Niewiasta matka” (“La donna madre”) che offre un’esperienza pedagogica e narrativa originale per esplorare il movimento e le emozioni attraverso l’espressione fisica, ispirandosi alle arti marziali, in particolare al Kung-Fu (non è richiesta alcuna esperienza pregressa nelle arti marziali). Le partecipanti e i partecipanti lavoreranno con il proprio corpo ed esploreranno il movimento, la struttura gestuale che si accompagna alla maschera teatrale e ai tipi che rappresenta. Il seminario è aperto a tutti coloro che sono interessati al teatro, al movimento e all’espressione personale. Non è richiesta alcuna esperienza pregressa di recitazione o arti marziali. il Museo Sartori ospita una delle più importanti collezioni europee di maschere teatrali legate alla Commedia dell’Arte e al mondo antico. Fra le tante maschere esposte quelle create per l’Orestea diretta da Jean Louis Barrault e per Peter Oskarson, quella di Arlecchino e Pantalone per Giorgio Strehler, la Maschera Neutra ideata per Jacques Lecoq nel 1947, il Pulcinella per Eduardo De Filippo, la maschera dell’Arlecchino Gatto per il Premio Nobel Dario Fo e Brattarello di Sarah Sartori per la città di Bolzano. Per tutti i partecipanti è richiesto un abbigliamento comodo. Małgorzata Grund-Bismor, regista teatrale, attrice e insegnante con una vasta esperienza nel teatro fisico e giovanile, si è diplomata presso la Scuola di Teatro Statale Ludwik Solski (Dipartimento di Marionette, Breslavia) e in psicodramma (I livello). Małgorzata ha diretto numerosi progetti che combinano movimento, spiritualità ed educazione, lavorando con partecipanti sia giovani che adulti in tutta la Polonia.
